Interestingly, both Priyanka and Anushka had already worked with him before Dil Dhadakne Do. Priyanka collaborated with him in Mary Kom and described him as “sweet natured, hardworking, and talented.” Anushka, however, had a very different take after sharing the screen with him in NH10, where he played a chilling antagonist. She reportedly said, “Where? I haven’t seen anyone ruder than him.”
The contrast in opinions naturally led to disagreements on set, with both actresses standing by their experiences.
Darshan Kumar Explains His Side
Years later, Darshan Kumar himself addressed the issue and cleared the air. Speaking candidly in an interview, he revealed that his distant behavior during NH10 was not intentional rudeness but a part of his method acting. Since he was playing a menacing character, he stayed in role and avoided casual conversations during the shoot.
“It was part of my process,” he admitted, adding that Anushka may have misread his silence as arrogance. He even recalled how she once joked during filming, saying, “I will rod him properly in the climax!”
Misunderstanding Resolved
Fortunately, the misunderstanding didn’t last forever. During the film’s promotions in Delhi, Anushka finally got to see Darshan outside of his intense character mode. Realizing that his so called rudeness was simply method acting, she warmed up to him and reportedly even called him “quite cute.”
This little behind the scenes drama not only shows how differently actors can perceive each other but also highlights how method acting can sometimes blur the lines between reel and real life. What could have been a lasting clash turned into a lighthearted memory and the cast of Dil Dhadakne Do went on to deliver a film that remains a fan favorite.
