iQOO 15: iQOO 15 Unboxing Reveals Stunning Design, but Charging Speed Takes a Hit

Excitement is building among smartphone enthusiasts as iQOO prepares to unveil its latest flagship, the iQOO 15, on October 20 in Shenzhen, China. While fans eagerly await the official launch, a new unboxing video shared by AnTuTu on Weibo has already given us a tantalizing sneak peek at the device. Even though the video is in Chinese, it offers enough visual details for tech lovers worldwide to get a feel for what iQOO has in store.

A Design That Commands Attention

The iQOO 15’s Legend Edition comes in an elegant black retail box, setting the stage for a premium experience. The phone’s rear panel is crafted with AG frosted glass and an anti fingerprint coating, giving it a sleek and sophisticated look. Adorning the back is the eye catching “Monster Inside” branding, along with a blue-red accent celebrating iQOO’s partnership with BMW M Motorsport. Unlike its predecessor, the iQOO 13, the back of the iQOO 15 is flatter, offering a modern and refined feel in the hand.

The triple camera setup is housed in a familiar island design, reminiscent of the iQOO 13, but now with LEDs encircling the camera ring, adding a stylish twist. On the front, a punch hole display promises an immersive viewing experience, while subtle antenna lines hint at the device’s solid metal build. The placement of buttons and ports is thoughtfully executed, with a power button and volume rocker on the right, a USB C port at the bottom flanked by a speaker grille, a microphone, and a SIM card slot, and an additional speaker, secondary mic, and IR blaster positioned on the top.

Premium Accessories with a Touch of Practicality

iQOO has included a high-quality protective case in the retail package, enhancing the unboxing experience. Interestingly, future color variants may come with matching color cases, a welcome upgrade from the transparent case that accompanied the iQOO 13. These small touches show that iQOO is thinking about both style and usability for its customers.

Charging Speed Downgrade Raises Eyebrows

However, not everything about the iQOO 15 will thrill fans. The smartphone comes bundled with a 100W FlashCharger, indicating a slight downgrade in charging speed compared to the iQOO 13’s 120W. While some might be disappointed by this, the iQOO 15 is rumored to feature a massive 7,000 mAh battery, which could easily offset the slower charging pace by providing longer battery life. This is a notable improvement over the iQOO 13, which had a 6,150 mAh battery in the Chinese and global variants and a 6,000 mAh cell in the Indian model.

Performance and Features That Impress

Under the hood, the iQOO 15 is shaping up to be a true powerhouse. It will run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC and feature OriginOS 6, promising smooth performance and advanced functionality. Gamers will rejoice at the 6.85-inch 2K display with a 144Hz refresh rate and a dedicated Q3 gaming chip, designed to deliver fluid gameplay and stunning visuals. Adding to its appeal, the iQOO 15 comes with IP68 and IP69 ratings for water and dust resistance and supports wireless charging, making it a well-rounded flagship for everyday use.

Final Thoughts

The iQOO 15 is shaping up to be a visually striking, performance packed smartphone with thoughtful design details and premium accessories. While the slight reduction in charging speed may disappoint some, the promise of a larger battery, cutting edge display, and top-tier chipset more than compensates. With the official launch just around the corner, fans can’t wait to get their hands on this impressive flagship.
