Rajnath Singh Warns: In today’s uncertain world, no country can predict when a war might begin or how long it may last. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh reminded the nation of this reality during his powerful address at the ‘Ran Samvad’ at the Army War College in Mhow, Madhya Pradesh. His words carried a strong message not just for the armed forces but for every citizen of India.
We Don’t Want Anyone’s Land, But We Will Protect Our Own

Speaking before India’s top military leaders, including Chief of Defence Staff Gen. Anil Chauhan, Air Chief Marshal A.P. Singh, and Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi, Mr. Singh underlined that India seeks peace, not conflict. But at the same time, he made it clear that the nation will go to any length to safeguard its territorial integrity.
His message was unshakable: India does not desire expansion but will fiercely defend every inch of its land.
Wars Are Becoming Unpredictable
Mr. Singh highlighted that in the modern era, wars can erupt suddenly and continue for uncertain periods. “Whether a war lasts for two months, a year, or even stretches to five years, our forces must be fully prepared,” he said. His remarks reflect India’s changing defence strategy in response to the shifting global and regional geopolitical environment.
Operation Sindoor: A Symbol of India’s Strength
The Defence Minister also praised the armed forces for the success of Operation Sindoor, calling it a landmark example of India’s technological and tactical excellence. The operation, carried out against terrorists in Pakistan, showcased the power of indigenous weapons and platforms, reinforcing India’s path toward self reliance in defence manufacturing.
Operation Sindoor was not just an act of bravery it was proof of India’s ability to fight technology driven wars, he said.

A Whole of Nation Approach to Security
Rajnath Singh further stressed that national security is no longer just the responsibility of the military. In today’s world, it requires a whole of nation approach, where every citizen, institution, and sector contributes to safeguarding India’s sovereignty.
Looking Ahead
As India continues its journey of building self reliant defence systems and modernising its armed forces, Rajnath Singh’s words serve as a reminder of the challenges that lie ahead. Preparedness, resilience, and unity will remain at the heart of India’s defence strategy in the coming years.
